Since 2008, the KACF has funded a yearly fellowship to provide specialized training in sarcoma treatment to a pediatric medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center through MSK Kids, the largest pediatric oncology program in the United States. Since the 1970s, the five-year survival rates for childhood cancer have risen from 10% to around 82%, with many advances led by MSK. As with the KACF Surgical Oncology Fellowship, The Kristen Ann Carr Pediatric Medical Oncology Fellows bring the sarcoma expertise they learn at MSKCC to institutions across the country and help train future generations of sarcoma experts on the pediatric medical oncology side.
